Student Interview Proves Rewarding

5th grade students, Jamie Worrell and Lily Ankomah, interviewed Mrs. Frankie McLean this week about the history of Bethel-Hanberry and Blythewood. They heard so many interesting stories and learned so much about life in the past such as riding to school on a horse-drawn cart! Mrs. McLean told a personal account of when she taught at BHE. Her kindergarten classroom was located in room 102, and then she later had a job at our school, when she worked in the book room on the 2nd grade hallway!

Mrs. McLean encourages all students to visit the Historical Society located on McNulty Street.
You may access more Blythewood history via the website here which contains many photos and information about BHE and the town of Blythewood.

BHE Turnaround Student Award Recipient

BHE is proud to announce that Jamie Worrell, 5th grader, has been named BHE's Turnaround Student for 2017-2018.  Jamie became a BHE student during his 1st grade year.  He not only had to get acclimated to a new school, but also a new language because he spoke German.  During his five years at BHE he has flourished.  Jamie is a hardworking student with lots of drive and a glowing personality and this recognition is well deserved!
