It is a pleasure to welcome you to Bethel-Hanberry Elementary School, where we are nurturing learners to lead and succeed! The first four days of school have been phenomenal and a wonderful way to start the school year.
The faculty and staff at BHE are committed to providing each student with a high quality education that starts with rigorous curricula, research-based teaching strategies, and personal student accountability. We are instructing and developing the whole student...academically, socially, and emotionally while providing opportunities for enrichment and extracurricular involvement.
Together with parent and community involvement, we are fueling the flame so that our students are well equipped to be successful learners and leaders!
Thank you for sharing your children with us. We look forward to a fantastic 2017-2018 school year!
Tracy M. Footman, Principal

School will be out next week and many have asked how to help their child keep learning during the summer. A library card and frequent trips to the library is a great way to help students continue on with their progress. Allowing choice is helpful; like us, most student enjoy reading what they choose to read. The websites we use at BHE to enhance learning will be available to students over the summer as well. For K-2 this year, Lexia and RazKids are for reading; Stride Academy has both reading and math. For 3-5 this year, Lexia is for reading; ALEKS is for math; Study Island has all curriculum subjects. All students have a subscription to Big Universe, an online library. All sites and many more can be accessed by clicking this link and finding the the grade appropriate Symbaloo page. Students need to know their login information to access most sites. Ask the teacher now, if your student does not remember his or her username and password.

Mrs. Counts-Davis' third grade class and Mrs. Mack's first grade class have been Book Buddies this year. Mrs. Counts-Davis' students have encouraged Mrs. Mack's students in reading all year long. Mrs. Mack's students decided to encourage Mrs. Counts-Davis' students to do their personal best during SC Ready testing this week by writing them words of encouragement on sticky notes each day. Such an encouragement for ALL of us!
